The ethos of 'Musicfest at the Show' is to enable everyone at the show to be able to relax, have a couple of drinks and enjoy a good time with friends, whilst listening to some great live music in a beautiful location. We think it's a great way to finish off a Guilsfield Show day.
Musicfest at the show supports local artists and bands. Run for the first time in 2018 it proved very popular with many people staying on for a fantastic evening in the sunshine. Last year we had two local singer songwriters - Ricky Smith and Reece Wiltshire-Fessey. They warmed up the crowd and atmosphere brilliantly for our headline act All Fired Up.
With lots of positive feedback after the 2018 event we are running Musicfest again for 2019. Let's hope for some great sunshine too! Starting at 5.30pm and running until the show closes at 9pm, we will have a stage area setup with a professional sound and lighting rig to ensure the musicians sound their best. Gracing the stage again this year will be a number of local artists and musicians from the surrounding area.
We don't usually charge entry in the evening, but if you do come and haven't been able to attend the show during the day (paying the entrance fee), we do ask that you consider making a donation into our collecting tins to support and contribute to the running of the show and our nominated charities.
The first act to grace this year’s stage will be local female choir, Castle Belles. Formed in 2012, they have over the years played many concerts and raised thousands of pounds for local charities. Their performances cover all musical genres including Motown, country, songs from all the decades and well known theatre numbers. There really is something for everyone to enjoy.
Our Second Act of the evening is well known, local musician Steve Edwards. Steve is a very popular guitarist and vocalist who regularly gigs at venues across the Shropshire and Mid Wales area. He plays songs from artists as diverse as Neneh Cherry, Bruce Springsteen, George Ezra and Oasis. We are delighted to have him play for us this year. Check him out at www.steveedwardssolo.com
Our headline band who will play the 7.30pm until 9pm slot are called Funkomatic. This band knows how to get the party started. Lead singer, Kate delivers powerful vocals and funky piano playing with the rest of the band keeping it tight and funky on tunes by Stevie Wonder, James Brown, Chic, Chaka Khan, Kool and the Gang and lots more. Funkomatic are looking forward to giving their all at Guilsfield on what promises to be a fun filled, funk packed evening. Bring your groovin’ boots!
